I. 3D Printing

1. Is it possible to see samples ?

Yes, we send you samples for free on simple request, for any quote.

2. Is it absolutely necessary to upload a 3D file to make a quote?

Yes always. In order to avoid any unpleasant surprises, we analyze the file quickly in order to be able to calculate the model price, even in the course of completion. Go to: stereoleap.com/upload.

3. What are the rules to prepare the 3D file ?

We put at your disposal a checklist for the preparation of your file intended for 3D printing: Checklist 3D printing. If you need any help or additional questions, feel free to email us at print@stereoleap.com.

4. I do not have time to prepare a correct file, can you do it ?

We provide a file audit service to isolate and resolve problems before printing. This service is not included in the default offers, it is the STL option at 25 €/h per file, to subscribe at the time of your order.

5. 5. What file format should I provide to send it to the machine ?

We use the .stl format in ASCII (and not binary, see Stereolithography). We advise you to export your object to print directly from your modeler, with the file units already in mm.

6. What size limits have the machines ?

To guarantee the best quality of the finished parts, we ask you to prepare parts in a cube of maximum dimensions 200 x 200 x 200 mm for PLA, PVA and TPU. For SLA resin, our maximum size is 100 x 100 x 100 mm.

7. What materials do you use ?

We can print your PLA, PVA or TPU plastic parts for filament deposition. In SLA, we offer different types of resins. If you have a special request, do not hesitate to let us know!

II. 3D modeling

1. What is the cost of 3D modeling ?

We offer 2 rates/hour to our customers: 25€/h according to existing room, or 65€/h for creation based on sketches / moodboard / references. In the first case, this means repairing a broken piece, for example. For the second, this is unique object creation.

2. What software do you use to model ?

We model on Rhinoceros 3D, which allows to import and export in many formats.

3. Is there any free software to model ?

You can install the free SketchUp multiplatform software, easy to manipulate to start in 3D modeling.

III. 3D scanner

1. How long does the process take?

The duration of the capture depends very much on the size and complexity of the piece, as well as its materials. It takes about 10 working days between capture and delivery of the 3D file. Your object may be immobilized during this time.

2. What kind of 3D scanner do you use ?

The machines used are professional models HD structured light, compatible for a capture with or without texture.

3. How can I send you the item ?

For non-fragile items, you can ship them directly to our mailing address (see Contact). For more exceptional or massive pieces, we can move on site for a withdrawal, to study together.

4. What is the file format obtained ?

The files are provided in .stl or .obj format.
