The raw material is a PVA plastic thread, packaged as filament spools. The machine deposits successive layers of plastic according to the final height of the object.
PVA plastic (Polyvinyl alcohol) is very specific because it is water-soluble. Only a few hours are enough to make it disappear completely. It can be useful for making lost molds.
With PVA filament deposition, we can reach a layer thickness of 0.10 mm (= 1 mm / 10), which provides a good balance between the aesthetic quality of the part and manufacturing time.
PVA has a glass transition temperature of 85°C. Its melting temperature is above 200°C.
